Puppet Show
On Valentine's Day, my Mom & Grandma took Rhapsody to see Little Red Riding Hood at the Puppetry Arts Institute in Independence. Rhapsody absolutely loved the show & afterwards the kids could paint their own puppets - which she really loved!! She did an amazing job at painting her puppet & even put on her own show!! She is so creative!!

Some things money can't buy...
$10 per day in gas for the last year: $3650.00
2 QT oil per day for the last year: $1846.05
Studded snow tires every winter: $500.00
Your daughter's reaction when she realizes you just bought a 'new' car.... priceless!!

I must apologize for the video being sideways, but Bub took the video with his phone while trying to carry all the stuff to the car....
Hello, Saturn!

Most of you know (some of you don't) that I have been driving the Death Machine for about 2 years. Now don't get me wrong, it has been a decent car... but the past few months have taken a drastic decline.... and the past few weeks have been down right awful! My Ford Crown Vic has over 209,000 miles & in the past few weeks - the heater gave out, it is leaking 2 QT of oil per day, costing us $10 per day in gas, on and on....

So, we have been looking for a vehicle for a couple of months but I really had my heart set on a Saturn Vue. They are exactly what I wanted & needed, maintenance is inexepensive, insurance rates are great and it is economical. I was having trouble, though, because Saturn's hold their value and we could not find what we wanted in our price range. A wonderful friend of mine said, "Hey, why don't you check Craig's List for an individual seller." On Friday morning, I checked Craig's List & found several... but one really caught my attention. I made a bee line for the door & called this gentleman on my way to meet him. The car was exactly what I wanted & for the right price. I checked the CarFax - 1 owner, no wrecks/claims, no liens!! I took it to a mechanic... in GREAT condition!! SOLD!
PS - the oil spots in the driveway are NOT from the new car ;-)

All over the place...
Well, it didn't take Harry long to catch on to the whole walking thing... and to think he will be one next week... geesh!

USHRA Monster Jam
The Monster Jam Truck Rally is in Kansas City this weekend and to promote the show some of the trucks were on display all over town.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous, so Bub picked Rhapsody up from school early & took her to see Shock Therapy. They also enjoyed some time at the park & finished up by riding her truck around the cul-de-sac.

Sayonara Baby Food!!!

Harry has 4 teeth now, so we have been trying to teach him how to eat table food for a while...But he would always love the flavor so much that he would try to swallow before chewing so he could get more... which resulted in his coughing and getting frustrated...
As if to flip a switch, last week we gave him a serving of biscuits & scrambled eggs - keeping a jar of baby food on stand by... He must have seen the baby food and decided he was done with that stuff because he chowed down his biscuit & scrambled eggs. The next evening, we decided to again try more table food...he downed the fruit & macaroni and cheese like a pro....
On Saturday, we had taco salad for dinner (which I knew he couldn't eat) so to use up the baby food, I opened a jar of his favorite and offered a bite. He opened his mouth, took a bite, gagged, spit it on me and said 'Uh-Uh Mama. No.' And that was the end of the baby food....
I was able to take some photos of him eating his new big boy food and just had to share! I am so excited that we are done with baby food... but my baby boy is growing up so fast!!
A Beautiful Saturday...

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous - we actually set a record high of 71° (on January 31 - I know!!). Bub had to work for a while & I could not pass up the opportunity to take the kids to the park.
The elementary school Rhapsody will be attending next year is very close to our home & they have a great playground. I loaded the kids up and headed over.... Harry LOVED swinging on my lap! But I think their favorite part was being able to slide together! I have never heard them both laugh so hard in my life.... I was able to get some great photos & just had to share!
